Unwanted Warnings.

The manufacturer doesn't want to put this warning on the product.
They do because they are made to do it.
The Government requires this warning.
But the company knows that people will ignore the warning.
The Government knows that people will ignore the warning.
So we are allowed to purchase a product the Government thinks is dangerous.
But if it is dangerous, why are we allowed to buy it?
And if it isn't that dangerous, what is the purpose of the warning?

It appears that safety is less of an issue here, than providing work for lawyers and giving legislators an opportunity to dabble in the world of business.
