Helping real people in the real world with real life issues is better than posting positive platitudes from behind a screen. Sure, the screen is like a magic window that reveals the needs of others, but that same screen can insulate us from the kind of contact with people that would result in us actually extending a hand to help them.
Virtue brings it's own reward, but virtue is not just wishing or commenting on the problems, but in the actual, physical doing of the deeds that need to be done. We should live so as to make the world and the people we make contact with, better off for having met us.
