Being the center of your own universe may provide an exhilarating, though temporary, godlike feeling. But on the other hand, when things go amiss in your own created universe, you then must be the devil of that universe. It is you who have become your own personal tormenter.
In an universe where there is a God, who is not you, there will be a way of escape. But in a universe created and centered around the self, there is no exit.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
